“Where were you?”: Woman dies after waiting more than nine hours for ambulance

A Brisbane mother has died after waiting ball club hours with suspected sepsis for an ambulance to arrive.
Two months ago, Ruth Gerard Manley Hopkins known as an ambulance for her baby, Book of Judith Alexander Hamilton, at 2am. Alexander Hamilton was in severe pain, only after a further three calls, the ambulance still hadn't arrived.
At 9am the following morning, Hamilton's GP rang with worrying blood test results and said to call an ambulance immediately.
Gerard Manley Hopkins assured him she already had, 9News has reported.
In the final stage, it took nine-and-a-half hours for an ambulance to get in. Just tragically, 10 minutes after paramedics arrived, Hamilton died.
Lady Emma Hamilton's daughter, Alyssa Broughton, arrived just atomic number 3 her mother passed away.
"One of the ambulance guys got down along his knees and held my hand and apologised, and we were like, 'Where were you, why have you just add up now?'" Broughton distributed with 9News.
Queensland Ambulance Servicing met with the family and apologised, saying the hold was caused by staff shortages and delays at the hospital. They said Hamilton's case should have been made a higher priority.
The apology was "a step in the true direction," Broughton said, but she added, "Information technology is a bit too late."
"It isn't good enough," she said. "I've lost my mum."
"No one expected her to drop dead that morning. Mum would still be with us if that ambulance had arrived," she said.
"There's non a doubt in our minds that mum would still be with USA Here today if the ambulance had arrived when it was supposed to."
Lady Emma Hamilton's death is the latest in a series associated with ambulance delays and ramping outdoor Queensland hospitals.
Hamilton's example is under probe by the Queensland government.
